Public briefing // campus outbreak protocol
Humans vs Zombies is a moderated, campus-wide game of tag where humans try to survive, zombies try to spread the infection, and every mission creates a story players keep talking about after the week ends.
What is Humans vs Zombies?
HVZ is large-scale tag with a post-apocalyptic premise. Most players start as humans. A small group begins as zombies. When a zombie tags a human, that player joins the horde. Humans survive by moving smart, completing missions, coordinating with teammates, and using approved stun tools such as foam blasters or socks, depending on local rules.
The format works because it gives students a reason to meet people, learn campus, organize squads, solve objectives, and participate in a shared story. Good organizations also make safety and clarity non-negotiable: defined play zones, safe zones, player IDs, moderator rulings, equipment rules, and clear conduct expectations.
How a game usually unfolds
Players register, learn local rules, sign waivers if required, and receive identity markers.
Humans enter play while the original zombies begin turning the campus population.
Moderators launch objectives that pull players into coordinated moments instead of random wandering.
The last humans and the full horde collide in a finale that gives the story an ending.
Why use the mobile app?
The website explains the game to the public. The app runs the live operation: registration, teams, tag verification, missions, announcements, maps, scoring, moderator tools, and audit trails.
Players can see their faction, missions, messages, score, inventory, and game updates in one place.
Admins can manage game state, announcements, objectives, reports, player records, and safety adjustments.
Opt-in location features can support zones, field tools, and situational awareness while keeping privacy intentional.
Ledger-style records make tags, points, powerups, and moderator decisions easier to review after the dust settles.
KSU engagement signal
KSU is the model for the kind of student-energy HVZ Game is built to support: large, visible, campus-wide participation where students do more than attend. They organize, show up, recruit friends, and turn the event into a shared identity.
